Placemaking combines community identity and inspiration with the aspiration of creating spaces that promote health, happiness, and well-being for learners. With a focus on the user-experience; this webinar addresses a placemaking approach to wayfinding & interior architecture that goes beyond navigation to align with a larger vision of spatial interaction with the physical and aesthetic environment for active learners. Creating place-based, branded connections between physical space & learning aims to open up new ways of thinking about surroundings in which students develop awareness, stewardship and a desire to actively inhabit the learning experience. With inspiring examples of how to ‘recapture school’ with a resonant storyline communicated through sustainable materials, graphic & color systems, furniture, and enriched interactive educational content – we’ll highlight how branding school environments builds placemaking to bridge pedagogy, place, and active learning.
