New Texas High School Faces Rising Construction Costs

Construction on Frisco ISD’s newest high school began this summer amidst rising costs of building materials and labor shortages.

The 66,000 square-foot campus will feature 26 classrooms, a space for students enrolled in the district’s Therapeutic Learning Program, administrative offices, a multipurpose cafeteria/auditorium and play-fields.

Santa Maria-Bonita Elementary Celebrates Construction Milestone

The two-story, $51 million school was designed by DLR Group and constructed by AMG & Associates. When completed in August 2020, it’s expected to accommodate up to 900 students in transitional kindergarten through sixth grade.

The new middle school located in Missouri City will include about 90,000 square feet of solar panels on the roof and overhangs.

Nebraska SD Breaks Ground on New Gym, Commons

Osceola Public Schools in Nebraska held a groundbreaking ceremony for a $7.7 million new building that will be constructed between the elementary school and high school. The 26,000-square-foot addition will include a daycare, a new kitchen facility with updated equipment, a commons area and a new gymnasium that will improve the elementary school’s PE program.

Gemini Middle School, outside of Chicago, debuted several changes as they began this school year including an expanded cafeteria with learning stairs.

Gemini Middle School unveiled new renovations as they welcomed their doors to more than 1,000 students from 6th to 8th grade. The expansion and remodeling cost $33 million and is expected to be fully completed by the end of the year.

After voters approved a bond in 2016 and after years of planning and design, Minnesota’s Sartell High School will open on Sept. 3.
